A network that connects people, values, and tastes
We can't imagine a good coffee drink without quality milk. That's why we partnered with Mlekarna Planika. Mlekarna Planika is the fourth largest dairy in Slovenia and the only one that is 100% owned by farmers. Their milk is produced locally, mainly on farms in the alpine region of Posočje. It operates in the Soča Valley and Idrija Valley, especially around Tolmin, Kobarid, and Bovec, where it is known for naturally produced food and high-quality dairy products.
Sometimes, juice goes well with coffee. So we made an effort to find apple growers who make the best juices. Sometimes we serve you a "pink" juice made from red-fleshed apples, sometimes it's juice from an organic farm, and in the future, we hope it will come from Notranjska and be made from old apple varieties.
Years ago, we met Edi from Domačija Vrabči and introduced his "38-tka" to our café for the first time. Over the years, other spirits joined it, but we're most proud of the award-winning Koreto, created in collaboration with us. In this drink, the knowledge, experience, and ingredients of two worlds meet. The final product is unique. Domačija Vrabči, located in the Kras region, specializes in distilling spirits and is dedicated to culinary hedonists who seek warmth in a pleasant, homely setting, accompanied by refined Karst elixirs.
Because we take the principle of collaboration with other cooperatives very seriously, the wine glasses of our guests hold the result of the work of the cooperative winery Vinska klet Goriška Brda. The story of Klet Brda began in 1957 with the founding of the cooperative that brought together local wine-growing families on the picturesque hills of Brda. Today, it cultivates 1,400 hectares of vineyards and represents one of the finest examples of successful cooperative integration of family farms in Slovenia's wine-growing regions.
When we encounter the need for translations during project implementation or want to learn a new language, we turn to the Soglasnik Cooperative. This language cooperative, which operates on the principles of co-ownership and co-management, ensures fair pay for fair work and transparent business practices with reinvestment into the local community. In addition to translation and proofreading, they also offer high-quality interpreting services.
Years ago, KED Smetumet used the jute sacks in which coffee arrives in Slovenia to make dishwashing cloths. And maybe we'll revive something like that again in the future.
